Description
We have a "momma squirrel" who visits our back porch, and has done so since before she gave birth last year. She enjoys eating out of the bird feeders, as well as additional nuts and treats we put out. When our supply runs low, she will bring up to the railing and eat these "brain fruits," or the large seed balls that fall from an osage orange tree, also known as a hedge apple. Roscoe, IL - January 2017.

Momma Squirrel still visits me daily; however, there are no more "brain fruits" left from before winter, so she's looking for bird seed, nuts, etc.

Oh, my goodness. Great capture, Denise. That squirrel has a lot of munching to do! f/l
Denise Irving replied:
Thank you. Momma Squirrel loves those "brain fruits," as my daughters call them.
